Time flies

Something seemed strangely significant about today's date but it was a long time before I twigged.

It was 46 years ago today - 13 September 1971 - that I started at the school.

I remember 3 of the 4 staff in LHA when I started and I remember those that joined in the following 2 years.

But I can't for the life of me remember who had the flat at the back of the house when I started.

LHA.

I remember Ken Grimshaw joined the house in 1972 but he had the flat at Maine A.

The JRE Shaw joined in 1973 with the LHA flat but only stayed one year.

I can remember walking into Prep B for the first time in January 1958, as if it was yesterday.

NOT a happy memory !!!

I'd be surprised if any Old Blue did not remember their first day, certainly those of us who had to change completely into school uniform and had no familiar clothes to wear. Surely it is seared on the memory?

I didn't remember the date, but have just searched for a1959 calendar, so I almost certainly started on 14 September 1959, so 58 years ago today.

The four staff were Dickie Dawe, Chris Nicholson, Pete Webb and P G Williams.

The flat was occupied by Alan Durden (tutor in LHB) and his wife Diana.

It was Williams I couldn't remember.

Don't remember much about him.

Funny. I thought that you joined the same time as me (or even before). I went in 1964.
