I bumped into Frank shortly after leaving CH.
We were both staying in the same hotel in the Lake District.
'The Hollins' was exactly like Fawlty Towers.
He was in the lounge after dinner surrounded by family and was holding court. It was obvious from what he was saying that he was an OB, so I signed the visitors' book and put my address as Christ's Hospital, Horsham.
Sure enough, the next morning at breakfast he came over and introduced himself.
Quite a character.
Ships that go bump in the Night is an entertaing read.
Others may have heard of him as well?
He died some years ago

I didn't know him but I 'knew of him' via a former professional cricketer called Dickie Dodds whom I was privileged to meet a few times in my teens.

Dickie and Frank were devout Christians and associated with an organisation called Moral Rearmament which, in those days, was predominantly Christian in nature but these days embraces all religions.

As an aside Dickie's son, Mike, was an Old Blue from the mid seventies. Some on here may remember him. He started sometime after I left in 1972.

I remember Mike Dodds slightly (though I didn't remember his Christian name); we were in LHA together. I recall that I was reading an autobiography of Neville Cardus (whom older OBs interested in cricket and music may recall from his many writings on those subjects) and he remarked that Cardus had written the foreword to his father's autobiography. We had no idea that his father was a successful cricketer or, quite frankly, that any of us had parents who were sufficiently interesting to merit a written biography, auto or otherwise.
