Doesn't ring all bells to me. Are you sure it was during my time ? Maybe JamesF35 would be able to assist [i'm not suggesting of course that he was the culprit].
How about some initials as a clue ?
Come to think of it, we did have one lad who had a strange obsession with all things adult. I seem to remember that he told anyone who would listen [and many who did want to] about a remarkable gadget he had seen in one of his magazines called a "love harness".
I'm impressed with your knowledge of my life since school. Have you been the unfortunate of some advice from me ?

Ron "Nog" or "Osram" Lorimer was my housemaster in Mid A.
He was indeed involved with the RAF section of the CCF (along with "Rocker" Rae(y) I believe) he also helped out with the scouts.
I had a "love" hate" relationship with Ron. In my early days in the house I thought he was a petty old woman but as I got older (more mature) I realised that he was a decent bloke.
As I posted elsewhere he used to invite us into his study to watch Match Of The Day and often he would let us have a beer ( I'm talking pre Grecian Club days) which was decent of him.
I met him at a wedding a few years after leaving and after the reception we had a few beers together which was very enjoyable.
Overall he was a decent bloke and I hope he is enjoying a happy and healthy retirement.

That would be Bob Rae. Maths teacher and Dep. Housemaster in Coleridge B in around 1962.Ron "Nog" or "Osram" Lorimer was my housemaster in Mid A.

He's still alive and well. Met him at a house re-union about 18 months ago ! Somehow didn't seem as scary as I remembered him teaching me !
John Rutley. Prep B & Coleridge B. 1958-1963.

Cant't remember his name but he was a few years below us. If I'm thinking of the right person, he also put pictures of aborted foetus's up on his dayroom workstation (what were those things called ?). Eventually there was some scandall involving him stealing some trainers or something from someone on a cricket away trip. In the end his parents were persuaded to withdraw him from the school. I wish I could remember his name . . .
Back on the oringinal subject, I must confess to having run a porn rental library for a term in my last year - with more than a little help from richardb I might point out. The trouble was it got too successful so we had to liquidate the assets at the end of the lent term. I remember making quite a lot of money from it though - it kept us in Grecians Club chits for a while. The person who bought the "stock" was caught with them right at the start of the next term. I remember Ron (Lorimer) saying to me that there was some suggestion that I might have supplied them. When I denied it he said "I didn't think you would be involved in anything like that" !!

If I am remembering correctly, his christian name began with D. He left at the earliest [legal] opportunity.JamesF35 wrote:Cant't remember his name but he was a few years below us. Porn library ? I'm saying nothing until my brief arrives. Anyway, you can't prove it

Ah yes, it's coming back now - initials D.E. if my memory serves me correctly. Better not give his name on the forum but he may have been related to a certain family in Dallas.richardb wrote:If I am remembering correctly, his christian name began with D. He left at the earliest [legal] opportunity.

We are thinking of the same person. It's the same young man who I remember regaling people about the "love harness" that he had seen in a magazine.JamesF35 wrote:Ah yes, it's coming back now - initials D.E. if my memory serves me correctly. Basically he was a very sad and lonely youth. With hindsight, he was probably attention seeking but he just made himself increasingly unpopular.
Ah haha.
The porn thing still carries on. We have a very reliable GE in our house who goes by the nickname of the 'Porn Baron', who hands out little discs to put in our computers, which start up the installation of 'Porn Baron v2.1'.
However, no punishment for porn anymore. The stuff just gets confiscated.

Hahah, I never heard about it... Then again, I wasn't exactly gossip central.
But no, there wasn't really much of a problem with this kind of stuff, as long as it wasn't in-your-face. And as far as I can remember, it usually got confiscated and you might even have a telling-off from someone, but nothing spectacular.
I keep getting the impression that people around my age missed out on so much... So, whoever's still there, please tell me I'm wrong! Please tell me you're being rebellious and making the deputy heads angry!
