Almost as shocking is his second faux pas:

"I know (Washington Redskins linebacker) London Fletcher. We did a football camp together. So I know him.

"That's the closest thing I know to London. He's black, so I'm sure he's not from London. I'm sure that's a coincidental name."

yes, they showed that clip on the news over here... he doesn't come across too serious in it though, and he's known for joking, so people are slightly divided on whether he's just playing up, considering he has an English teammate, or whether he's being serious.

Apparently some English DJ rang a US professor to discuss this and the US Professor asked him where Portland Oregon was, and he didn't know, then asked him where Oregon was, didn't know, then asked him for the capital of the US,"New York, erm no Washington"

I don't think intelligence is a requirement for Yankee football.

If you start playing the game with any brains, you'll have lost 'em by the end.

All big Nancy-Boys, wearing padding, helmets and nappies.

I've tried to like American Football, really I have. I even watched the highlights of the NFL match at Wembley last night. It's such a boring game and ridiculously complicated. And at one point I counted SIX referees or is it umpires? on the field - wtf is that about? It's rubbish. Give me rugby union or league anyday.

american football is incredibly confusing-i had am american friend who made me watch the superball and tried to explain the rules-all i managed was you have one team for offensive and one for defensive and they swap as they need to to suit play! Oh and pointed out by fiance-they have cheerleaders

Ah, but have you ever tried to explain cricket to a bemused frenchman?
Just as confusing, apparently...
