Re: Happy New Year 2011
Now I've recovered/sobered up, ( ) I wish you all a very happy New Year - I know some very lovely happy people and I know some very lovely rich and healthy people but sadly they are don't often appear on both lists - you can buy a pretty good approximation of love but you can't buy happiness so I am only wishing you a happy New Year on the basis that if money and health make you happy then they will follow..............
Yes, Mary Poppins is alive and well and living in Berkshire............
2011? Bring it on!!

An elderly patient of mine, feeling rough one evening, as he went to bed, looked in the mirror and said "Goodbye old chap, I don't suppose I will see you in the morning."NEILL THE NOTORIOUS wrote:I have just decided that I am grateful to wake up in the Morning !
However he was wrong and lived a few more years.

Re: Happy New Year 2011
Happy New Year everyone. Thanks for the timely greetings Mary - even though I missed them at the appropriate time .
We saw the new year in at 'home' (my daughter's) with The Hitchhiker's Guide and a bottle of Killawara Dusk. Made up for it the next day: caught up with one of Jess' friends who works in a mine in Western Australia, but happened to be close by for a few days, for a quick drink en route to the beach. Didn't make the beach, but had a wonderful afternoon with a bunch of dogs, a dam almost full of water, and an esky of beverages. I was promoted to driver, but did manage one Vodka and Blood Orange, which I can highly recommend .
Have had a fantastic two weeks here in the desert/outback. The unusual amount of rain this year has meant that the scrub is still green and vital - unlike the sad, thirsty landscape I was expecting. Add this to some magnificent coastline about 70 km south, and I am in paradise. Returning to work is not appealing to me at all. I am scheduled to return on Thursday, but before I left my Supervisor did say that if I felt like using up some of my time in lieu, so I just might stretch things out until next Monday.
Happy days - and may they continue for the whole year for everyone.
xx

A belated greeting for 2011 from me !
Quite an eventful Christmas, with a streaming cold which turned into bronchitis over the new year.
