Dobbie is very much as I remember him, pompous and arrogant, chatting away, contempt for the process and perhaps shielding himself from the reality. The smartly dressed young man with him is probably a solicitor? There's another video, of him at a later hearing, which i can't find (holding the notebook) much the same, but now alone, but by the time the additional charges were laid, it seems he's begun to crack up a bit, out and about in his bizarre red / yellow / brown ensemble, plus hat. He just looks angry in the photo, and has put on weight. The close up of his fat red face suggests heavy alcohol use. No evidence for it but I suspect he's just pretending to talk on the phone, as he does this at two different hearings, and it would be an odd time to either accept to make a phone call really, wouldn't it?

He'll look far worse by his sentencing I expect. He's a vain man who enjoyed an expensive lifestyle (how funded???), and I think he will find prison particularly hard.

Husband's pictures are interesting too. The court footage shows him angry, arrogant and very much alone. He's hasn't aged too well. But the Police custody photograph is of a man distressed and afraid, but still disbelieving, who knows his past has just caught up with him, the comfortable if dull existence he had created for himself after leaving CH has come to an abrupt end, and he's looking at spending a substantial proportion of the remaining years of life in prison.

The police mugshot will have been taken at a fairly early stage when Husband's past had just caught up with him. His cosy world as Town Clerk was about to unravel.

There were photos of him out and about around Pickering but surprisingly these appear to have been removed.

Husband's daughter attended the sentence hearing. She will have known some of the victims.
