I was surprised at the list of 25 best boarding school books - two of them were favourites of my mother's (born 1923)and are still on my father's book shelves, so they must be about 70 years old! The Dimsie series, and the Chalet School series, which I believe had a revival in paperback a few years ago - much more interesting than Mallory Towers!!

The Chalet School series was definitely my favourite.
