That is really great news. Remember though to take it slowly - really wallow in that bath!! Now you have survived all that I guess the odd spider will seem like small fry!!

I was thinking about spiders while we were in there. How come you don't get spiders in hospitals? Does the smell put them off?
Thanks everyone! She's going to read all your messages later, I've been telling her how lovely you've all been

Absolutely delighted for you!!! I thought Louise might be allowed home by the weekend but this is a wonderful surprise. I'm sure she'll come on in leaps & bounds now she's safely back. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date through tireless & so supportive Barnes Mum.

Hang in there, Michele, and when you have had a bath or two please keep us updated with Louise's progress. I am so relieved that at least she is deemed to be sufficiently recovered to go home. Take care.

Not a good idea. I am rubbish at cooking. Luckily Dean is a brilliant cook, and does 99% of the cookingSallz wrote:Thats fantastic news, Im so glad she is home and doing well. Hopefully mums good cooking will help her to get her strength back up so she can go to the christmas meal

Thanks Annie and Kerren. It was a shock for us too. We'd spent all of yesterday and today waiting for the Brompton to make a decision on the chest drain, and the ultrasound consultant was convinced it would need doing because she said she could tell the fluid was badly infected because of it's 'honeycomb appearance'. But Maidstone sent all the info to the Brompton and they decided that because she has improved so much in the last couple of days they were happy to let her come home, with a 4-week supply of antibiotics, as long as I ring them immediately if she gets any chestpains/niggles/discomfort/breathlessness/temperatures etc. Basically I have to wrap her in cotton wool for the next few weeks and give her lots of cuddles!
The doctors and nurses are amazed by how well she has done; I told them it was down to all the prayers, positive vibes, virtual hugs and lovely messages we have received

Re: Swine flu - school closing for a week
Goodness, I go off and do something else for a couple of hours and come back to a flood of postings, including the best possible news! I'm so glad to hear that Louise is home - that they think she's well enough, and that she's back in familiar surroundings. Now she has a good month or so to build up her strength before going back to school. Excellent news.

Re: Swine flu - school closing for a week
I doubt if you needed the advice to wrap her in cotton wool, did you? I'm sure if it was one of mine that would be what I would be doing without anyone telling me!
I have had people around the world praying and lighting candles (possibly imaginary) for her, on a very large message board I post on. Several have already said the news Louise is home had made their evening - as it made mine - even the ironing took less time than usual!!!

Lonelymom - I cannot beleive that with Louise home you are spending so much time in front of the computer. Switch off and go and make a fuss of her! Or go and sleep.
