Old Blues' Day : Who's going?

Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

Well, I was planning to go, although I have not officially logged in. However, it now seems that I may still be in Finland, grounded by Icelandic volcanic ash; now you must admit that is a novel kind of excuse!!

I am going back, it is a very strange feeling even though its only been 10 years, I went back the summer after I left so technically 9 years but very odd nonetheless, I remember feeling quite sad that I was no longer an active part of the school - but the chance to go back and pretend I have spent the last 10 years as an astronaut or mercenary is too much to let pass!

I have just discovered that my House is going to be the girl's open House for Saturday. I'm duty this weekend so if anyone fancies popping their head's round my office door to say 'Hi' it would be great to see you. For those who don't know, I'll be the one sitting up in the matron's office. :D

Any reports? Who was there? What did you all do? Our 20 year reunion is coming up in June and I'm debating whether to make the trek over.

I was there. The weather was great as was the food and the company.
At tea, I sat opposite a couple of sisters (both teachers) from LH who had gone to their 10 year reunion a couple of years ago.
One had really enjoyed CH so the 10 year reunion was excellent for her as she caught up with news on all of her friends.
The other, had not really enjoyed CH and so had fewer friends. She also felt restricted by the 10 year format as the day was pretty well organised and they visited places as a group. She felt much happier on OBD as she was able to wander to most places she wanted to visit without the restriction of being in a group.
So you have two views and it is really up to you as to what you want from a return visit to CH.

Yes.
Keith has changed a bit since I last saw him when he left CH.
It might have inspired me to do something for Spain.

yeah! Success!! Thanks John.

Was he looking blurry? - my printed copy was  Of course I only know Keith now.... but he did mention the other day that he left UK in 1969 - when I was just about learning to walk :D - I've changed a bit since then, too

Re: Spain - go for it! There must be more OBs in Spain than Finland. Good Luck!

A very good Old Blues Day, I thought. I was particularly impressed by the Clerk's words at the start.

It could have been; I got my invite last Saturday afternoon whilst you were sitting down to your lunch!
Of course I knew about it a bit in advance from this forum but not CH

More serious, presumably next year will be the "60 years on" for the 1961 leavers; I need my invite in the next four or so months (I already have appointments (boosey) for November next year!)
