Sure but I have seen the damage done by parents, some highly qualified, in far too many kids. At least and in theory all teachers and other associated adults are vetted; parents are not. The tone suggests that you are having a go at boarding schools - what about the death at a state school AFTER the HM had specific warning and decided it was none of his business?

Might as well add football practice and cub/scout camps to that. In fact, don't let them leave the house.
Although having said that, most cases of child abuse happen within families...
Not a lot of people know that...
