Malwarebytes blocks this site

Post by ColA25 »

I must have taken an update to Malwarebytes recently and it has started to put a big warning page:

Website blocked due to a suspicious top level domain (TLD)
Website blocked: www.chforum.info
Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked this website because it may contain scam activity.

We strongly recommend that you do not continue.

And the checkbox for "do not block this site again"...doesn't work.

already advised under reporting inadvisable postings and he is working on it.

Actually I have has some reports like that, even on my email site but I think they are being over cautious though of course worth investigating
What happens if a politician drowns in a river? That is pollution.
What happens if all of them drown? That is solution!!!

I've done some digging on this, and MalwareBytes is indeed flagging the site as suspect.
I've submitted a support ticket (I'm a minor reseller of MalwareBytes, so a little embarrassing!) to request info over what's causing the black list, and/or to have it white listed if it's a false positive.
It could be some spam has crept in somewhere, which we've not deleted quickly enough, and it's therefore flagged it.

MalwareBytes have now white-listed the site, and confirmed nothing malicious on it - it was a false-positive! (or should that be a false-negative?!)

May take a bit of time for local caches to catch up, but should be accessible to all again now without issues.

Has the "thank you" option been removed?

Sadly, yes.

It’s proven incompatible with the latest version of phpbb and I’ve not found a suitable alternative that works :-(
