I suppose the plan is to buy books etc but as the school would sort that out anyway, surely the pupils don't need this 'incentive'...

Coffee and cake in Costa/ Esquires every day for a week (not Starbucks though - is it me , or is their coffee always cold??)

I didn't get EMA in 6th form as I couldn't be bothered to fill in the form, it was far too confusing and brain taxing.
However I was working over 20 hours a week at the time anyway, so it wasn't really worth applying for an extra £40 [it was 40 when I could have applied] ; I always missed lessons on monday mornings as I'd spent the whole of Sunday night working on double money to pay my rent!
But at CH pupils might aswell apply, money for nothing...

We gotta install microwave ovens
Custom kitchen deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators
We gotta move these color TV's

I shoulda learned to play the guitar

My god that isn't a bad deal, shame i don't get any EMA......

Only dosh i get is from washing dishes in the Local gastro-pub and the odd gig...

Is that next to the Bedford Pub per chance?

I've been meaning to ask - just out of curiosity, what sort of set do you guys play? How long, what sort of numbers, etc.?

Just interested in case I hear of anyone looking for a jazz group........

We generally try to be as diverse as possible, Latin and Rocky numbers
balanced with standards and well known tunes from 'Kind of Blue' etc..

Some of our own compositions, but we try to play things we actually like playing, it helps!!!!
A simple set would be composed of Miles Davis/Herbie Hanock/John Coltrane tunes, a couple of Funkers and Latin Bossa's, then some more mellow standards.

Have made a few enquires about a possible jazz reunion gig at CH, waiting for some replies!!!!!
