Young, enthusiastic Blue/Old Blue to go on Question Time?
Surely there must be a Blue or Old Blue out there who'd put themselves forward for this:-

What about Luke? I know they need applications by June 9th, but I don't suppose they would record it until after A Levels.

Yep, Luke would be good or any of the current posters from the School. They all seem quite articulate.englishangel wrote:In Austria.Mid A 15 wrote:Where's Hendrik when you need himjtaylor wrote:Surely there must be a Blue or Old Blue out there who'd put themselves forward for this:-

I don't know that Luke would, but perhaps you should try asking someone like Jon Tee (current 2nd Monitor) who loves all that kind of thing...
I'm sure there are various people who would like to give it a go, and there are plenty of people clever enough... It just needs to be advertised.

I would totally be up for that! The problem is, do you reckon they would phone NZ for the contact numbers?
And I don't have a UK phone let alone a video phone! I think that kind of entry proceedure discriminates people.

I would try if I was 18... I'd have to steal my dad's video phone anyway. The technical requirement definitely makes me feel behind the times...
I hope a few Old Blues try, though. I'll pass it onto Guy Matthews (YOB), who's working as a researcher in Westminster at the moment.
On the subject of talking to politicians, two deps (including me) are 'interviewing' Maude for the Blue in a few weeks - I'm not quite sure how that will turn out. We definitely aren't going to print a page of Tory propaganda, so we've tried to be quite difficult in the questions. Wait and see how that turns out...

Well I do get back from Austria on the 6th of June...Mid A 15 wrote:Where's Hendrik when you need him
Chances of getting it are slim beyond belief though. Broadcasting House will be swimming with applications from the far left, but in the interest of "balance" they will probably take one person to the left of New Labour, a Blairite (the Blairite depending on applicant numbers), a Lib Dem, a Tory (the Tory) and maybe one other from a minority party or "apolitical/I-fink-polutishuns-are-a-waste-of-munny-innit" chav.
I'd be staggered if they prove me wrong. Staggered but delighted.
If I pretended to be Tory my chances of selection would increase a hundred-fold. Hmmmm.......... and it would serve the b~ggers right if I showed my true colours on the night only......

Go for it.
That is what the internet is for.
Incidentally, does anyone want to apply for 'Test The Nation' 'The IQ test'
from a 'public' school?
I am going to apply as an Estate Agent.
I got 54/65 on the 'Planet' one last night.

How about Mark Thomas, of Channel 4 fame ?
I'm sure he would give that smug Mr Dimbleby a good run for his money !!
Suggest the BBC try the job-centres if they are that desperate !
