AFAIR Stonehouse got as far as Australia and had a far longer holiday. Even got the taxpayer to fund his return flight (probably clubclass as well)
Jude wrote:huh. It's been very humid here - in fact today is horrible - it's partially overcast, with the odd bit of sun, but SOOOO humid.... Anyhow, have watered the garden (using the water syphoned from daughters shower in the bath....see I'm using the water twice, have picked some pansies to press, and I have 3 beautiful sweet peas out in flower - two purple/blues and one cornflower blue... very pretty!
so, what's wrong with your shower / bath water? OTOH perhaps we don't want to know. Did your daughter make the sweet peas blue? Peeps have got to know these things

Living in France you probably don't know these things dear, but
a) there is a water shortage
b) being on a water meter makes you think about the cost
c) I'm being environmentally friendly
d) nothing wrong with the water - hence it gets used twice one to wash and one to water the garden -

boom boom!

I havea recipe for bitter, (but it's quite sweet for those lager louts!) and normally only make 11 gallons at a time - it requires a large dustbin, takes 11 days to ferment and be bottled into lemonade, cola bottles - don't have enough space time continuim to make 11 gallons

Anyhow we have started filling the water butt with WATER!!

Not hot, pleasantly warm, (22-24) and supposed to remain so for a week.

This is in the barmy (sorry balmy) south.

The north, (and I am not going into definitions here) has gales and torrential rain.

Well, my Ma is in Haslemere, donc south, and she was complaining yesterday that it had turned " cold" again and that she had got her woolies out of the cupboard again !

Hoever, since she is shortly coming out to BCN ( where the temperature is 30ish) for the summer, she says that she can put up with the bad weather...

It was cool and breezy in Surrey yesterday.

Today, warm and sunny with quite a stiff wind !

Parma violets or blue smarties.

Devon weather couldn't make it's mind up as to what it was doing today. Like some bizarre strip show, cardi off, cardi on, now a jacket, then neither ... But have finally bought a summer-weight duvet. Just bliss after years of sweating it out under a 15 togger (cue JR).
