here we are in September - and it's all muggy and horrid again and getting sleep is like keeping the cats in the house! Difficult!
I hear we are about to hit another mini heatwave.... PLEEEEEEEEEESSE no.. although, perhaps I would prefer driving to Leeds in the sun as the car has air con, wheras the last journey to Cornwall was 5½hours due to rain, rain, rain - oh and did I mention - rain????
As did the quick zoom to Leeds we did the day after she got her results and was verbally accepted...... I have a problem with the wipers on my car, I am certain that they are sublimly trying to hypnotise me into something I am not......
any one else have similar problems????????????????????????

120 degrees F = 49 degrees C and we were cutting brush from 9 am to 1pm.
Anyone want to lose a few pounds?
Anyone want to get fit?
Anyone want a holiday in the sun?
It was 80 degrees F (27C) in the pool - just a degree under what it is in my study now at 10pm local time.

Having more money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars
but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million.

could do with a holiday David - but can only do minor work - like cook a meal, and make preserves.......sejintenej wrote:120 degrees F = 49 degrees C and we were cutting brush from 9 am to 1pm.

You're a bit late for the plum jam, but there's a few acres of hillside covered in blackberries to pick for jam ......Jude wrote:could do with a holiday David - but can only do minor work - like cook a meal, and make preserves.......sejintenej wrote:120 degrees F = 49 degrees C and we were cutting brush from 9 am to 1pm.

OTOH the house will be full from Wed until end Sept, then 2 days peace then a horde of my son's friends descend until we come back to the rain, wrong type of snow / rain / sun /staff / passengers / trains / politicians / residents / whomever I have missed out from those except TB who is censored
Book earlier next year Jude and we'll see how many hundredweight of plums we can find for you.
(We have since hit 50C but today it was much cooler, thank goodness - probably around 38 - 40C where we were working.)

When we were in Thornton I used to go to collect apples for the boys too. Most of the apples are far too high up to pick so you have to wait until they fall.....although I might invest in a fruit-picker thingy if I can find one, then I might be able to reach the pears on the tree in our garden so the dog doesn`t eat them all when they fall!
