Nothing wrong with that, I just wish I could afford a nice one. Actually with my damaged back, I will be looking for a second hand 4 wheel drive. The reason being that I don't need to drop down into or climb up out of a 4 wheel drive

Bl00dy 4 x 4's are a pain in the @rse.

Personally, I'd QUADRUPLE the road tax on 'em.

That'd stop these pandering mums driving their little cherubs an eighth of a mile to school !

but there re the occasional reasons why people need them - but you are right about those parents...

I agree with you about dropping kids off for school in 4x4s. I have already told my girls to forget it, they walk to school just as they always have. Unfortuntely 4x4s are often a must for the likes of me

In the morning round where i am the roads are jammed with chelsea taxi's. No wonder kids ae obese if there parents are driving them everywhere, i used to walk amile to school in Oundle and loved it, great way to socalise!

Soc if you get one just please dont become one of these 4x4 drivers who think that because there car is bigger that gives them some form of superior rights to drviing right down the middle of the road then stopping to chat to someone whilst blocking entire road at 5:10pm (yes thathappened to me tonight and am still stressed by it)

The only reson for the car is to relieve pain and to be easier to drive.

The Chrysler PT Cruiser (which you either love or loathe) provides many of the benefits of the seating in a 4x4 without making you climb up 2 feet to get in and avoids everyone else on the road hating you. My wife drives one and it's not a bad car in many ways though it has an appalling lock which might make it a bit awkward if you are a bit restricted in your movements.

4x4s are generally unnecessary, when the costs go up or the trend changes, suddenly there'll be loads of second hand ones around.

... and although not the most wonderful car by any means, we find the citroen picasso is good for getting in and out of easily - also has a cavernous boot!

I graduated to the Picasso from a Berlingo, having done my homework and discovered that the cargo carrying space is almost the same in each. I have a sun roof, meaning I can carry the band flag and carrying pole, when necessary.

Far more comfortable than the Berlingo, I have now done 73,000 km in just over 3 years, so it must be some good.

We`re on our 4th picasso so it shows we`re happy with it! Just not the car a real car-lover would chose! But at least they`re cheapish, and fairly economical!
in fact, several members of the family have followed in getting one - as have friends having been in ours.
