I have managed to recall why it is that you owe me a beer, Robin! Let me remind you ....huntertitus wrote:Crikey!
Did you buy me a beer while I wasnt looking?
Did you buy me one and sneakily not tell me and then drink it yourself?
I cannot possibly tell you what happened at my club last night
I did get home at 3
And managed to get away from several very yound OBs who wanted to go to a local watering hole with me
That was ririculous
They were all about 21 and I have just become 48!
They were, hpwever, charming in the extreme and mostly friends of a Ramos
There wrer 3 Ramos" in my time and I met 2 of my generation ones at the party and a son or 2 all of whom went to CH
.... and I did answer your query thus:huntertitus wrote:My friend by the sea is so kind
And his poem so polished and shined
He really don't mind
If my grammar's behind
He's a generous soul you will find
But exactly which sea is he near?
The Med where the water is clear?
The Sargasso, The Black?
Out the front? Out the back?
If he tells me I'll buy him a beer.
DavebytheSea wrote:Your offer's accepted my friend
A beer will most certainly tend
To enrich my style
And during the while
Some long lost dear friendships amend.
So listen with care Huntertee
Near pasties and cream do I be (local dialect serves here)
And if you shall ken
Any Tre, Pol or Pen
You will there find my house by the sea.

I think I was in a hurry that day
I will be delighted to buy you a beer if you are in London and give me some notice as many evenings in the week I have family (taxi driving) duties to perform
I have an extremely good watering hole in Chelsea where things can happen...
Let me know when you will be up in the smoke and I will but you that beer even if you didn't exactly name the sea!
Maybe it's difficult to rhyme with Atlantic, or Channel.
Well, there's pedantic and flannel?
