Hi Kerren -
now that I'm UK-side again, I can help out too if needed. Broadband is being installed after Easter at home, so no problem with connection.

Will PM you home & work addresses.

Thanks everyone! I am working on getting packets out to John R, John H, Barbara, Mary, Caroline (as well as to five other non-Forumites), within the next couple of days, to the addresses you have given. There will be a covering letter.....
I hope that you (especially Horsham Old Blues who will not necessarily know what DRW's Founder's Day Addresses were like) will enjoy your reading/typing!

Looking forward to reading these, sorry I cannot help with the work. I might be available for proof reading if that is necessary - I have some eperience of that.

Thanks Katharine...I'll ask Viv if she needs any help re proof reading.I've been looking closer at them this morning and found what can only be a Real Mistake! In the 1968 FD 'address', she read excerpts from children's diaries going back to 1538. There is an excerpt dated '1965', in which the diarist recalls the last of the great celebrations of the 400th anniversary year..... so you may be right. 'Proof reading' to a level greater than just checking for spelling might well be required!

Hello Folks!
This confirms that there are ten Old Blues supporting this endeavour. Today I have posted envelopes to John H, John R, Mary, Caroline and Barbara - they went First Class (or air mail etc.) to the addresses you had suggested. Everyone has between 40-55 pages to retype ( I THINK I kept the biggest bundle for myself!). The appended letter gives instructions about formatting and where to send the files when you have retyped the stuff I have sent you.
Please could you let me know if you do not receive the materials in the relatively near future....or, indeed, if you have any queries? The covering letter indicates that you may possibly need to seek some advice here and there!
Thank you again for all your help in this.

I received my envelope this morning. I got the last few years, all nice and clear for me to copy.

Hi Kerren

If I'm not too late would be happy to join the typing pool for Miss West's book material. Do you need my details? You should have them from Carol Service. Or could I ring you to confirm?

Regards

Thanks Clorinda.. in fact I have parcelled out the job and sent it all out to the nine volunteers (and me makes 10).
If any of those volunteers would like to share their load, perhaps you could PM Clorinda direct?
I take the opportunity, however, to confess that two of the volunteers tell me that they HAVE been able to scan their 'share' into Word - albeit recognising that there are loads of 'glitches' so they have got to go through things pretty carefully to correct those glitches and to reinterpret handwriting. I suspect that whereas the University said it could not scan from fuzzy typing on flimsy paper - the endeavour of photocopying those little sheets and enlarging onto A4 80gsm paper has made now resulted in making available the option of scanning. I wish I had known beforehand...
I am now off to find a scanner for my own pages!

Hi Kerren

My share arrived safely this morning - in perfect time for me to get stuck in over the long weekend.

I read snippets as I waited at the many sets of traffic lights between home and Uni - fascinating. Can't wait to read the other addresses once the publication is ready for purchase.

Love
