Shelley Wood Campfire - Schedule

Post by Eruresto »

For all those attending the campfire this Saturday, the schedule is as follows:

1730: Troop meet at Scout Hut in Full Uniform. Depart CH for Shelley Wood.
1800: BBQs lit. Recommended arrival time for guests
1930: Campfire lit. Entertainments begin
(<>): Troop Entertainments continue.
c.2200: Patrols (minus those sleeping over) depart Shelley Wood for CH. Fire reaches embers stage.

Notes:
- Although 1800 is the recommented arrival time, you are most welcome at any time (at time of writing, we have people coming at around Midday and as late as 0000)!.
- Instruments are very welcome at the fire - accompaniment is always good!
- If people are still feeling wide awake, we may well proceed up Sharpenhurst as a JDS-birthday thing (despite JDS being absent and his birthday not being for another 4 days IIRC)

What sort of guests are invited to the campfire? Could Eastburns come and bring their own nosh to cook at the barbeque?

Yes, I sure we can make an exception to you - as long as Johnny promises to keep his pyrotechnics well away from the wood

Perhaps - it all depends on you! If you can trace a link to the wood, no matter how tenuous, then by all means! More than anything, it's whether you're up for singing around the campfire, after not being hit by a flaming arrow.

Lol.

EDIT: Mark, the pyrotechnics is my department :D Don't worry: I'm going to be practicing all tomorrow!

Well, House Runs featured largely when Rugger was off because of vile wet weather - does that count?

Singing is what this Eastburn likes best.

PS I hope that neither you nor Mark is suggesting that Jonny is particularly known for any Pyrotechic expertise, are you?

Not this time, Mat - I spent two hours today practicing! Speaking of which, how well does paraffin soak into wood?

A fair few - Meekie will be there at about midnight, Skinner and Mary deffo, possibly Pippa and we're saving a space for Mel...just in case! Other than that, it's the troop minus Jonny V (who I have personally excommunicated for being annoying) and a bunch of old blues...
