Re: RIP Wendy Richard
I voted for Miss Brahms as there were only two options however my personal favourite Wendy Richard memory is "Come Outside" which she sung with Mike Sarne c 1962.
I heard it again the other day, coincidentally, and somehow it takes one back to a more innocent age.

I voted for Pauline. I do remember her as Miss Brahms but didn't watch Are You Being Served much as I was a) too young (
) or b) at school!

In the USA the Public Broadcasting sections of the media raise money by twice yearly public appeals for donations. When we were over there (89-93) "Are you being served?" was their biggest money raiser. Often one of the stars would go over to help and John Inman, Wendy Richard and Molly sugden were extremely popular.

Are you Being Served is currently showing on a Dutch station that I pick up in Luxembourg on Sunday mornings. great stuff with Captain Peacock, John Inman and of course a very very young Wendy. 65 seems far too young these days. RIP

I so miss that type of double-entendre humour, now so sadly missing from TV comedy.
The nearest is probably Lee Mack's wonderful writing and acting for 'Not Going Out'.
The funny repartee over the pedometer he mistook for a wrist-watch last week was hilarious.

RIP Wendy. A talented woman who behaved with dignity, unlike you-know-who.
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.

Re: RIP Wendy Richard
Like JR, I also miss the kind of gentle Double Entendre, which we used to get.
I am still a fan of the old "Carry On" films --- coarse, but never filthy, and "Up Pompeii" with the young Master unable to find a rhyme for "City" and Ludicrous looking at the camera and saying "Well you must be the only one !"
I suppose we must accepy that it is a different world -- But I still think Jonathan Ross should have been FIRED ! !
RIP Wendy and her like.
