Some of the children are very bright and come from very impoverished backgrounds.shoz wrote:From my very limited knowledge of CH I am surprised to read the reaction to the MasterPlan. As an outsider, the impression I got of CH was that it had plenty of money and that money was well spent. I only see the wonderful buildings, the chapel, the grounds, etc and it look fantastic.
But the reality would appear to be different. I read that money may be being wasted on refurbishing accommodation to perhaps a standard that isn't really necessary; that some boarders will benefit from these improvement while others have to wait, causing understandable resentment.
But perhaps CH is being slightly over generous with their subsidies also. Many parents contribute only £250 per year and some pay nothing at all. Even state schools aren't that cheap. I may have completely got hold of the wrong end of the stick, hopefully someone will put me right.
But I imagined everything to be perfect, when obviously, it isnt.
