Did putting English infront actually stop the spanish enquiries? My wife and I have a joint email account that we thought couldn't be confused with anyone, it is amasedo. Sure enough, we get a few contacts from Spain asking for someone called Enrique

I don't know about you but after a while I found myself thinking of learning Spanish just to make sense of their posts/emails!

So Mrs C - One thousand posts!

Now we know how assistant house tutors in Grecians West pass their time!

Here is a little tribute which can be added to the others placed within this thread. (...... and I did warn you that you might not like it!!! )

We've now reached number eight of those who sit up late
Throughout the hours of darkness that they keep,
Though her eyes appear to roll, she's a kind and gentle soul
Plucking Grecians from their duvets as they sleep.
In the forum she's a force that's never rude or coarse
But she sometimes posts in threads that are absurd
Such as those concerning cars, when those eyes light up like stars
Or in Mallet's Mallet where she adds a single word.

Thank you David!

(I`m sure there are some who would not entirely agree with some of those comments though!!)

Lucky Grecians being "plucked from their beds"

Never happened in my day

We had an old gent who told us to "Show a leg"
This phrase came from the old days in the Royal Navy where
they wanted to find any ladies hiding in the sailor's beds before embarking on a voyage.

So, ninth in very truth is the lovely Baby-Ruth
(The one who never knows when she is lost)
She vanished out of sight, but we found her, late one night
When she reappeared to post a rude riposte.
Since then she's in a rut where she can't escape the smut
Except, that is, when she goes home to bed
And then, when in the mood, she writes verses in the nude
Unless she's drinking whisky there instead.

Beautiful ode DBTS

What a wise old bird you are

Is that a portrait of you on your avatar?

Does not that noble beard get caught in the rigging?

By the way due to you I tried sailing this summer and it was completely addictive

I suddenly understood why people who sail talk of little else

I ended up taking a Victorian wooden boat out to sea from Anglesea

No engine - if you get in trouble you row!

I enjoyed every second and would love to do it again

So thanks for going on about boats and giving me the idea

You are too kind Robin (and I love the way you have set out your last post! :) )

Yes, I'm glad you enjoyed your introduction to sailing - it certainly is a great pursuite and, as I said before you are welcome aboard any time you can find a little free time to come this way. Preferably bring one or two others - there is plenty of room as the boat (theoretically! ) sleeps 11. She has not been mine for the last few years, but I still have the use of her.

Thank you very much. I only just found this thread.

How did you work out I write limericks in bed and then bring them in and post? Very well deduced!
