I just had a very vivid flash-back to my teen years. A certain lady and black satin sheets.Eruresto wrote:What do you mean, John? And this isn't me being funny, this is me being confused. Perhaps naïve would be more accurate, knowing you.
Perhaps a Primarch-type shop would sell them?
Need I say more ?

Josh, the Magic Roundabout was a children's series which started in the sixties (it was French, but the English stories were made up by Emma Thompson's dad to fit the pictures). Nigel Planer did a more recent run. It was so bizarre that many "hippy/pot" legends live on among those of us of a certain age <<sigh>>. The characters were as follows...Eruresto wrote:What do you mean, John? And this isn't me being funny, this is me being confused. Perhaps naïve would be more accurate, knowing you.

Poor Josh. Now he's going to think that there was something about black satin sheets in the Magic Roundabout!
There may have been a certain level of innuendo (not as bad as Pugwash...) but I don't think black satin sheets came into it. It was too wholesome for that!
My vision of JR's remark had more to do with James Bond.....
B'doyng, b'doyng ...... (Zebedee.....)

MAGIC ROUNDABOUT
There was also a nautical character named "Seaman Staines". Say it slowly and forget about the spelling. That was explained to me a couple of years ago by my daughter, who was laughing so much at her ignorant and naive parent that she was almost in tears. It seems that the producer must have twigged because the sailor made only a few appearances.

Apologies to the truly faint-hearted, but be warned, this is, erm, quite rude.
