I was really really lucky in the PDSA shop in Ashford a couple of years ago, in finding a new Windsmoor coat in scarlet with a black velvet collar for Â£20! It was a quiet moment, and the worthy volunteers regailed me with stories of men who come in and beg to try on any items of lingerie behing the little curtain... Well, that's Ashford!

The nightwear was no good. Rows of quilted nylon dressing gowns from the local seconds shop.
