The usual stuff from the school.

Has any other school ever had so many teachers convicted of sexual offences against pupils?

A very fair statement, in my view, given the recent circumstances.

The statement mentions finding out about what occurred and learning lessons.

Not how it was able to occur.

That requires full disclosure to have confidence it couldn't happen again.

The starting point could be Karim. We know that was covered up.

Good job I didn’t hold my breath waiting for Cairncross to comment after the trials (if you remember she said it wouldn’t be appropriate for her to comment until the trial was over). I even reminded her via Twitter but oddly she didn’t respond.

The silence is deafening. As is the silence of Sillett and rest.

Brings back memories of the oft heard comment, "NO COMMENT !" Which in our book translated as "GUILTY AS HELL, GUV !"

Now I am angry all over again thinking about smug faced Poulton wearing his school tie to Karim’s trial. After the testimony he gave he should have lost the right to wear that tie.

Adequately describes one of the weak H.M's that followed after C.M.E.S. Glad I left before his tenure ended.

Hmm. A national tabloid newspaper knew about that one. I'll assume quite a few people would have read that, including coppers...(?)

An estimated 5,000 pupils have been abused at Christ's Hospital:
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=5209&p=142368&#p142368

-The school did not protect pupils from abuse and bullying.
-In fact the school covered up and facilitated abuse.
-So abuse and bullying increased.
-Cover continues.
-So it is likely that abuse continues.

'Sudden staff departures' are correlated with abuse activity. Whether 'sudden staff departures' have been researched and reported in detail to the police remains unclear to this day.

See, e.g. this thread:

It looks like the great educational benefits spoken of in "The Charge" were not received by TMF ... or the moderator who thanked him for his comment.

What seems to be a theme in cases of historical sexual abuse at schools was that it wasn’t unusual for teachers who were reported to have committed sexual offences against the pupils, to be given references which would allow them work at other schools or just allowed to move on, likely to another position giving them access to children or vulnerable adults. sadly, I think we’ll just be the tip of the iceberg.
