Not so keen on the abbreviation ever since - very many years ago - a student had a crush on me. She used to come sailing with me and would come into my cabin and sit on the end of my bunk and say "Hello Dive" (she spoke with a slight cockney accent). It terrified me!!

I have told the story else where on the forum in greater detail.

Okay David, is that better?

You had a young female after you? I bet that was difficult to deal with

Still, I know from work that female related problems can be a total mine field. If a woman so much as hints at sexual innuendo and all hell breaks loose.

I once saw my immediate boss get the sack because he told a female employee that she looked lovely. She screamed sex abuse and he got the heave ho!!!

From that moment on I only ever spoke to women with witnesses present

diverted from the mallets mallet thread
Ruthie-Baby wrote:MERRING
this is the seven characteristics of a living organism the only thing i learnt in biology at CH

movement
excretion
respiration
reproduction
irritation
nutrition
growth

just thought I'd share that

by the way I haven't read the whole topic but we're not playing mallets mallet. the TV programme by that name insisted you linked each word back to the original, not the most recent word in the chain. which was far more boring and affected every time i tried to play the game we ARE playing with any school friends because they'd all seem it on TV. but I don't know the name of the game we are playing and I can hardly interrupt the sequence to find out.
