That's a bit harsh. The thing about all these girls was they were all much younger than him...

Yes but I wasn't part of the pack. And I wouldn't go so far as to say I was your only female friend who was older than you, but I don't think there were many...

Let me put it this way, the piccolo was not regarded as a cool instrument in the band... however, we were 'above' the clarinets in that regard...

No piccolo's in my day !

So how come clarinets now get a mention ?

One's short and very thin, and the other is quite long and black.

There MUST be a moral there somewhere !
