I agree with this. I was always worried that non-uniform times would be increased and my less than trendy clothes would have to be displayed to all to jeer at.

I liked half-housey, comfy, you could get away with having your bands undone (white against white), no heavy coat. Didn't get it very often, only when summer dress was declared part way through the summer term.

I for one, am for school uniform to be worn at all sensible times and not only for bed

School pyjamas in my day - striped traditional draw-string waist things.
I think they got phased our during my time there, as I only recall having some in my first few years.

I'd love to have had school pyjamas - anyone manage to liberate some that could be sold on the black market (or put in the museum archive)?

Let it be known that Grecians (in the West, at least) do actually get as far as taking clothes to the laundry rooms --- not sure if they get as far as the washing machines though!!!
(and at least one person in GRW has enough to last a term without washing, I should think!! )
