Sidonia, she was 'in' Mid B the year before the Hertford girls arrived. Her and was it Tanya Sillet (?) joined the school and were linked to boys houses, no idea why but she was very nice and friendly as you'd expect from the Porteous Family.

Anyone know where they are now? Last I heard was they were in Brighton somewhere.

Do a search on the forum for Sidonia - Vonny and I were discussing her on a different thread (may have been school chaplains?). She may be/have been involved in the film industry.

Don't know if it's the same person, but then again - how many Sidonia Porteouses can there be?

It is un unusual name! I've never come across any other Porteouses or Sidonias.

I knew I had heard the name Sidonia. - initial thought was that he was involved with Sir Cloudsley-Shovell (?sp) in the destruction of the English fleet on the Scilly Islands (silly man). Turns out he was behind the destruction of the Spanish fleet aka the Armada) as its boss.

Porteouses; seems to be currently an unusual name with examples from Ontario and originally from Scotland.

As for the young lady in question., from what I see she was last seen doing a runner on some set. What an unfortunate title - makes her look a criminal (which of course she isn't - I hope)

Last gig behind the theatre, Summer 1984 (I think!). Gene Simmons and his Rock School could have taught us NOTHING! ;) But we would have been a better band if our drummer hadn't had the habit of downing a bottle of vodka before every gig. Madman. He went on to become a GP, I think...

Our guitarist, Paul Scanlan went on to rock god success with the band Creaming Jesus and others. They were pretty good, actually!
Hahaha!! I remember that gig....

Along with Tehnicolour Yawn (Featuring top Composer and TV presenter Charlie Hazlewood!!) and a couple of others..

I believe Chris Jupp and Ali Zaldua were in a band called This Leather Wedding, who were goth... They used to play at the UF/GE Club!!!!

There was another band with Justin Foster and Andrew Reeder in it, who played in the chapel, Cant remember their name..

Yep.. In my day, the music school was a cacophony of rock bands playing. (also the Octagon).. How things seem to have changed... They had to bring in Simmonds!!!

Are they the clan that like wearing black 'Munster/Adams Family' type of clothing with heavy black make-up ?

Going out with one of those girls must be like going out with a corpse, and I've known a few like that !
