Most of the "famous people" with whom I have worked or consorted are either french or spanish, so I do not suppose you lot would recognise any of them....
( Moncho, Danny Daniel, Francis Lopez, Johnny Stark, Ralph Bernet, Rosa Ferrer, Cyril Assous , Los Chichos.... etc )

I met Andi Peters while doing a Community Service thing for one of the groups we worked with one summer. He was thoroughly unpleasant.
I met Stephen Fry at a book tour for Moab Is My Washpot. He was unpleasant, too, but this wasn't long after his disappearance, so mitigating circumstances apply there.
I met the great Tom Baker at an Art Exhibition I was helping curate once. He came in wearing a scarf (on a warm September day, I might add though that enormous hint at his identity completely passed me by) and asked to be shown around, so I did. I remember thinking to myself, "I'm sure I recognise this man, but I can't work out where from..." He was charming and warm and very, very funny, but not as silly as his tv persona.
He was at the Exhibition to buy one of his friends' paintings, which he duly did and as he was leaving, I asked him to sign the visitors' book so that we could stay in touch and send him updates and an invitation to the next year's show. He was reluctant, but I eventually persuaded him. It was only after he'd left, when I read his entry and realised who he was, that the penny dropped. Poor bloke must have thought I was just trying to get his signature... D'oh!

I saw Tom Baker at a Leicester Square cinema one quiet Saturday afternoon. He was wearing a (the?) scarf and had his current girlie in tow (not Sarah Jane or Leila, and I can't remember any of the other's names: short, blonde, curly hair ...). There were about six people in the cinema, and he made a big point of requesting seats somewhere quiet and unobtrusive - during which process the other patrons became well aware of his presence

Coincidentally, Sarah Jane was in the episode of Doctor Who which screened here last Saturday. I was so relieved to see that I am not the only person to have kept the same hair style for 30 odd years.

Good to see you back Tim!Tim_MaA_MidB wrote:I worked with Geoff Capes for a while. He was wearing his budgie breeding hat at the time!

I used to train with Geoff years ago on occasions as his coach, Stuart Storey, also took the fitness training for our rugby club at the time.
I remember seeing Geoff bench press 350lbx10reps and making it look like he was lifting a rag doll up and down! The guy was awesome!
