Would it be OK for me to just turn-up for the midnight tonight, or is it a closed/invite service?

Happy Christmas to you all. I hope you're all having a great day, the first of 12. We've digested our turkey and plum pudding and I'm now having a sit down for the first time in a week. My feet are killing me. Looking forward to the Vicar of Dibley tonight ...

We had a great evening at CH for the Midnight service - I would say it was one of the most fulfilling Midnight services I've been to in about 10 years.
I think this may become a regular part of my Christmas celebrations. Certainly beats the middle-of-the-road local parish church, and the evangelical one round the corner where half the "songs" are unknown and lack any melody whatsoever!

Just got back from a great day enjoying extended family with a great lunch....roll-on New Year!

Happy Christmas everyone

Glad to hear you found the service fulfilling, Julian. How far was it for you to drive?

I was leading the Intercessions last night and had prepared especially and had linked it all in to the nativity theme - with petitions linking to shepherds and kings etc. Then the sermon was all about mythic heroes needing mythic births and that this was why the nativity stories had been written. This gave me the length of the creed to do some fast rethinking and slight rewriting - I could do without that at midnight!!!

I did the intercessions at St Mylor last week! Perhaps we should have Christian prayer thread where intercessions could be shared?? I know that some might not like it, but they wouldn't have to look. Bit like the Divert threads really - you look at your own peril.

Seriously, I would love to see your intercessions, Katharine

Not far - Mum's in Croydon, so it was only 45 mins, especially with so little on the roads.

Rewritting intercessions at short-notice - sounds like a challenge!
