I feel a happier woman this evening,for once justice is seen to have been done.

My husband (who works with Hills, Corals, Ladbrokes et al) is delighted about the gamblers case. He also wondered how a 28 year old (who trains greyhounds - not a high paying career) got through £2m.

At the end of the 1800's Lord Justice Scrutton was hearing a very long a but silly case where the claimant was technically in the right. Proclaiming that "The law is not an ass" he awarded the claimant one penny and the costs of both sides amounting (even in those days) to thousands of pounds!
