I think it is probably, inherent in us to make fun of Danger, to relieve the strain.
The point about these Posts is that H & S cAN get to the ridiculous stage --- which then detracts from the essential messages and Practice !

I loved the j-peg that did the rounds on the internet.

It showed a NYPD bomb-disposal expert from the rear, wearing a fantastic black T-shirt, imprinted on the back in block red.

'BOMB - DISPOSAL.'

'IF I'M RUNNING - TRY TO KEEP UP !'

Is it true that Bomb disposal experts wear t-shirts that say

"I am a bomb disposal expert, if you see me running you had better run too!"

I don't know about that but as with many of the Police, the Bomb Squad designed their own tie.
From what I can remember it was, book (letter bomb), candle (detonator or explosive) and bell (alarm system or what set off the bomb).
He also had another tie which was a chain encircling a green Z on an orange background. Something to do with a seige when they thought they had some IRA person holed up.

Today, an elf (our manager in disguise) told us we were required to have an "induction" into the Hospice H&S policy. As I have worked there since 1987, I thought that was a bit ridiculous.
