Let your courgettes get to full size then cut off leaving plenty of stem. Remove any remains of the flower. Light a candle and drip wax over the end and a little down the sides of the stem ensuring it is airtight. (You may have to repeat next day). Keep in a cool dark place; last winter we had stored courgettes until Xmas.

This works equally well with marrows but I haven't tried punpkins.

Don't need to do that with pumpkins - well, not in a mediterranean climate. The stem seals itself by drying and they last for months.

Fjgrogan ---- When making Wine, of any sort, the sugar is turned, by the yeast, into Alcohol and Carbon Di-oxide gas, in equal quantities --- unfortunately by WEIGHT.
I understand this presents a different problem for Diabetics --- but who cares ??

BTW----- SUGAR not Splenda or Sorbitol, or any other Abomination ! -- they don't work !
