I didn't watch the programme, on purpose. But I have read the reports etc. afterwards. In reading this thread (which after all is confined to a very small proportion of the population) I can't help wondering how the prominent Nazis in history (Hitler, Mussolini et al) would either have survived, been destroyed, or might even have blossomed - if the internet had been available in their day.......

Sorry ! but Hitler was elected Chancellor, by a good majority, in a perfectly legal Election !
Germany was in mess at the time, with stratoscopic Inflation, under the Weimar Republic, and he appeared to offer "Firm Government " and cured the Unemployment situation by building the Autobahnen, which were kindly extended by the Belgians !!

Of course we all know what happened, when the Nazis got into power ---- but people can be misled, by "Hope" which can sometimes be seductive !

Awful man! Though I hate what he says, I defend his right to say it .... and the BBC is right to follow the rules.

But ....... whatever was a man of DD's experience doing? The meeting was abominably chaired ....... no discussion of issues, just an arid slanging by panel and audience (and was one of them a recent SG at CH - certainly looked and sounded like him!!)). Jack Straw did himself no favours either, and it was left to the two women panellists and Chris Hune to provide some sense of decency and moderation although I missed the link between BNP and Christianity referred to above.

No wonder the BNP ratings have gone up! ....... such bad chairmanship has allowed the man to become a martyr!

I can't help but see a similar pattern emerging.

Until ANY Government in power starts to do something POSITIVE for a change, and stop griping about having to pay some of their expenses, (perks of the job), back, things will only get worse
