I'm going to try to get there. Choir dress code is casual but smart (unless you are coming straight from work and have to dress formally for work).
And John, don't forget the red wig to go with the trombone...............?

Hopefully will have an event on Facebook done - that should get more people involved... (why don't the CHOBA use Facebook more as a tool?)

I replied to you on Facebook, Matt.
I gather the choir is looking quite respectable but more brass could be appreciated.
Come on brass players!

I think you lot better look at Page 9 of todays, (Monday 30th. Nov), Daily Mail.
Carols are 'Nonsense'.
Big defence of Carols by Bruce Grindlay, former Director of Music at CH.

That would mean buying The Daily Mail - no chance, I'm afraid!

You can look on their website free of charge. You have to have a shower afterwards, mind.

Thanks,
ah, I see now, it is a CH Association thing - sorry, i should have done my research first. have a wonderful time!

But its open to all CH friendly people so you would be more than welcome! And your current Blue(s) if he/she/they wanted to come.

And Josh will be back from his pilgrimage by then (think he leaves Rome by train tomorrow night) so have suggested he might come to the Carol Concert.

Do we need to get tickets in advance or can we just pay on the door? Things are a bit volatile here at the moment, and we may need to decide at the last moment. Maria flies in the night before and will be staying in Kent with Kirri - plans beyond that are still a bit fuzzy but we would like to be there if it is at all possible.

I am sure tickets can be got at the door.
Paying in advance helps for the numbers for wine etc after the concert. As long as hordes don't come at the last minute there should be no problem.

If you see the thread on the name change, it is the CH Old Blues Association now, which is (somehow) supposed to be more "inclusive" than just calling it the CH Assocaition, but whatever it's called it is inclusive. Once I went and bumped into a couple of women I worked with, to the surprise of all of us, they were there as guests of the widow of an Old Blue. A couple of years ago a current Blue (also the daughter of an OB) did a piece (sorry can't remember now if it was a talk, a rading, a poem or what) and there are usually a couple of seniors in full Housey handing out programmes etc.
Frances, I have paid on the door before. I am also in flux as don't know when the distaff twin will want to come home.

The 'Blue' reader ..I think two years ago ... was the OG Presentee, Georgia (named Governor Miss Tucker), done on behalf of her mum (Hertford OB Caron) who had broken her ankle and was not able to get there.
Whether there will be children in uniform giving out programmes etc. this year remains to be seen. Term will have ended.
