Just as well I've still not got a job though!
I wonder if I can't get a part refund on fees though
I hope those already ill make a speedy recovery we're a relatively healthy family but I do worry for those with other health concerns.
You'll need it; you have to meet the extra cost of getting her home, feeding (and whatever else) her and then getting her back to school.

Sorry to learn about this epidemic, & to find out how poorly some of the victims are. I do hope all you parents will be able to accommodate this unexpected disruption & will manage to enjoy at least part of the time your children are home.

Thanks for your best wishes. By the way, huggermugger, i've just checked and haven't had a pm as yet.
She's been given Ondansetron by the doctor to try to stop the vomiting and help her keep some fluids down. It's not helping that she just wants to sleep all the time so getting her to drink is a problem in the first place. We've been set a target amount of water to keep down, otherwise the doctor wants her on a drip. He spent a good half hour with her earlier, taking her pulse, which was racing, so he took her blood pressure with the machine. Just for good measure she's developed pleurisy, but he said he wasn't as bothered by her laboured breathing as he was by her heart rate and incoherency. He spoke to the hospital while we were there so they would know to expect her if she needs to go in this evening or during the night.
At the moment I'd just like to get her temperature down and stop the rigors. She's on adult-dose paracetamol and ibuprofen but during the last 24 hours her temperature hasn't dropped below 39, and keeps peaking at 39.9.
I don't think I'd completely understood before quite how bad this swine flu is. My daughter is a fit and healthy 12 year old, and yet this has knocked her sideways. It is no wonder it is killing people!

Thinking of you all, lonelymom, & hoping the fever breaks soon. Also hope you & your husband stay fit & well while you're trying to cope with this, and that your elder daughter will be ok too.

Lonelymom, you are all in our thoughts and prayers, and as Annie says don't forget to look after yourself and keep fit to look after your children.

And b*gger, b*gger, b*gger, we're going to the Lord Mayor's Show tomorrow for the first time ever, and I was particularly looking forward to seeing the Band.

Jo you would probably have got very wet - the weather forecast is dreadful for tomorrow plus the danger of picking up swine flu. Imagine what the rain would have done to the band's instruments. Lots of reasons to save it for next year maybe?

Well, we're still committed to going - our residents' association for some reason has organised a coach trip so we're all booked and paid up. Bad weather or not
Still, I think my mother said that my cousin and her husband are bringing their steam bus so that'll be someone else to wave to. Just hope we don't get too wet - it's supposed to dry up during the afternoon so hopefully the fireworks won't be affected.
