We stopped buying a 'real' tree when ours dropped needles somehow into the goldfish tank and killed the fish, in spite of my late father-in-law attempting to revive them with the kiss of life and brandy!!

We have informed the Church Members that, instead of Christmas Cards, we have sent 100kg of Rice to a Country which needs it (Tear Fund) Last year we sent a couple of Goats to another needy place.
I can only recommend using your money in this --- a useful way !

We have, however, let the side down--- by buying some CH cards this year -- (The Winter Fun )

We got a reply, from someone in the Church, who said they were glad that we had NOT brought the goats into the Church for "Inspection" !!

If anyone out there in Forumland feels the urge to donate a goat or something similar and cannot decide where to direct it, perhaps you would consider supporting the Landirani Trust (www.landirani.org) which was set up by three members of our church housegroup to support orphans in Malawi affected by HIV/AIDS. Have a look at their website - they have only been going about four years and doing great work.
