The art school car park bogs were painted black and absolutely STANK - if you were desparate for a pee you had to hold your breath - number 2s were out of the question, though a lad called Earland showed me the ladies which were warm, clean , had doors and were never used - so we used that for smoking and if in need of a sit down.
Somewhere I have a photo or two of me and a friend in the bog there - I think we are smoking but not sure - one day I will try to fish out all my ancient photos...

I think I only went in there once or twice - they were often locked...

I think it's currently empty...
and of course as one or two of the eagle eyed have noticed, it was used as the "classroom" and "dorms" for rock school, although the children never slept in there.

Would I be correct in assuming that you are a Rock School parent?
Actually, I was scratching my head vis-a-vis a few of the locations.
Now I know why.....

I did notice they put a classroom in there - I guess it was to keep the noise away from other classes...

I recognised the Prep Block from the camera shots, although it didn't have that fire escape staircase in our day. That answers my puzzlement about the dorms though. I'm surprised they didn't use the hall for rehearsal shots rather than the Octagon (bad memories of deps divinity with grolly in there). Or perhaps the Prep Block Hall doesn't exist any more - has the building changed much ?
Was that Dave Earland by the way - he was my nursemaid in LHA back in 1972.

Yes, I am a "rock school parent", and our son (who's just left CH) was in the prep block during the Lamb refurbishment. It is mostly bedrooms/dorms, and feels like a boarding house.

The preb block hall was turned into classrooms when I was there in the 90's - it had probably been done before that...

It was a sports hall. I remember playing basketball in there.
I also remember it being used for rock concerts and plays.

i still can't even fathom where it would be in the prep block, or playing basketball in there (it must have been big then), or having rock concerts there. none of the rooms in the prep block seemed very big.

My memory's a bit faded on this one, but I think it was on the left of the downstairs corridor.......

The prep block hall was Mr Stannard's room and Mr Flemming's room
It's not an apple, it's a plum...

Isn't there such a thing as a 'great plum' then?
