I can say that I have seen a clip of Mr Martin attending the original Magistrates Court hearing, and I must say he looked incredablly fit for a man of his age, so who knows ??

I am reliably informed that to date, no new charges have been made against Martin or Burr.

Methinks sejintenej errs in this matter. While the surviving regicides were tried before being executed, the leading dead ones (Cromwell, Bradshaw and Ireton) were, I think, merely disinterred and their bodies treated in like manner. It is easy to hang, draw and quarter a corpse, but less easy to try one.

(The Restoration was in fact carried out without much revenge. I think fewer than 25 people were executed or imprisoned for their Commonwealth activities, and they were all regicides.)

Samuel Pepys witnessed the execution of Major-General Harrison: 'I went out to Charing Cross to see Major General Harrison hanged, drawn, and quartered; which was done there, he looking as cheerful as any man could in that condition.'

Harrison made a speech saying he would soon be sitting on the right-hand of Christ to judge them who had now judged him.

And on this subject and expected to be admonished for going 'Off Topic', I recently read a tract from the late, great actor, Sir Christopher Lee, who as a youngster, was in France. He witnessed from a window, the LAST public execution carried out by guillotine. His description was certainly very disturbing.
