Woodworm just got another mention on the ITV News.
They were trawling Flintoff's endorsements. £250,000 apparently.

That sum is accurate. Freddie signed a lifetime contract with Woodworm earlier in the year. This means he will receive £250k a year for as long as he is playing test cricket, I believe. This is not taken out of the company's figures, but it might appear to be venture capital. Look at the huge Barclays endorsement on the back of the Wand. A similar deal is being/has been struck for KP.
First in 2002 we had The Wand, then came the Torch -as used by the man with a skunk on his head, Kevin Pietersen. In October there will be the official launch of the Flame, I think it is called, which Flintoff trialled in the Trent Bridge test whilst making his maiden Ashes century.
It all goes to show that a good idea, with some sound business advice and financial backing from an Old Blue, coupled with vision - (what skill in identifying in 2002 the right men for your products) - can take you to the heights.
Let us all applaud such enterprise .... any bids for the signed Pietersen bat in my study ..... just joking, folks - must have ebay on my mind - for it will soon take pride of place with a Flintoff Wand in the 1st XI pavilion!

Thanks to Richard for posting the article, here it is:-

A misprint in the
County Times piece: "Michael Hilard" should be
Hiard (CB 1970-77, Governor).
Here's a spirited interview with Joe in the
Telegraph a few days ago:
