Perhaps it's time to be ground-breaking! Start something new at CH. a new tradition. Let's decide tonight to admit one person a year to be a HOB. (Honorary Old Blue). I propose that this year it is me!!

Problem is that there is no category of "honorary OB" - you either are you aren't. But Wait! I have an idea. Are ex teachers not sort of OBs too? He could teach - even for a short time like ........

We're not like a Uni giving out honorary doctorates to anyone famous or rich enough to raise publicity. No. We just invite Gene Simmons for a few weeks to shake things up a bit.

Traditions have to start somewhere!
Set me some sort of test or exam about the school. Give me a certain amount of time to answer and if I get all questions correct, then accept me.
How does that sound?

Teachers are a slightly different case. And from my time on the Club Committee, they had to be invited and have served a minimum sentance - oops, I mean time - in order to be invited. I guess now with the CHA that rather cancels that out as the CHA is for anyone - so.. there is no longer that grey status.

Well search this forum - it's all there.

But you must check the rites current for your vintage. One, I think, involved the application of jigger to certain parts, another ritual baptism in the bog - there may be more!

Did they have spam fritters at the skinners school, my wife went to a boarding school and they had spam fritters there. ( I feel another thread coming on)

Has anyone got a copy of Shippy's Squits' Quiz? That was always a good test - but obviously not a guaranteed entry.

AKAP - Hubby seems to like Spam Fritters - so I'm guessing Skinners *didn't* have them - if you get my logic.

True. Each generation had their way.

The Baptism still existed on my squits - but had developed slightly.
