I don't know how many they want - but there's an email address to enquire about on the CHA website...

What does under the candle mean? (I'm far to much of an ignoramus!)

Top of the candle is high church bells smells dressing up in surplusses parading around with golden chalices bowing and general big deference to the big G. The lower down the candle you are, the less of a performance you make.

"No Catholics allowed."
In that case I will cancel my plan to attend. Pity, as I was looking forward to it.

Anyone know of a decent pub nearby (only as a pre-concert meeting point, of course....)?

Can't now. Am triple booked. :-(

Pubs - what sort do you want? Cheap? Nice? With food? Before or after?

I can suggest:
Duke of Yorke ( a Sam Smith's pub - so cheap, decent beer)
Penderell's Oak (a botherspoons - so Ok; nothing special)
Bung Hole (very nice - quite pricey)
Smithfield Bar and Grill (very nice - quite pricey)

Just looking for somewhere to have a quick pint or two beforehand, really.

The evening venue has already been arranged by the C.H.A. / Newgate Club etc.

I certainly will - what part are you singing?

Debbie, shame you won't be there...

I'll be in town from lunchtime onwards...

Tenor - planning to get there in time for the brief practice at 5pm - I'm pretty rusty on some of the music, so should provide some entertainment...
