So? It's only taken nine years to get this place into its current condition and there's more to be done - perhaps another 5!

As for the garden - spent much of this summer starting to sort that out. I'll post a picture of my begonia wall on my site sometime! That is something I am pleased about.
Only nine years, how did you get things finished so quickly? We have been here 22 years and there are still bits undecorated.

Yes, all very true but a loo door???

Moving out at Hallowe'en!

Will be waking up in dolls' house on All Saints' Day!

Yes, we have 31 October as completion day. Everything has gone according to plan - Venetia, supreme estate agent, has been terrific and Sam, her uber-efficient pet solicitor, more than helpful.

I can't help being seriously excited now, but I knowiknow  things could still go pear-shaped..

Mr Brown Fangs could be waking up here to survey that lamp-post in it's traditional trick or treat swathing of loo roll!

Have you exchanged Angela?

I was just checking back and just about 3 months from putting your house on the market to completion is pretty good going.

I am days away from completion ( we have to get everything settled before the sellers go abroad on 16th october ) , so given that my lease did not run out until 31/8, we will have managed to go from start to finish in about 6 weeks...

Have we broken any records here ?

( look out for a large, noisy, red post here when my abode is finally mine !)

I saw on the news last night that some main post office workers immediately walked out again after returning from the two 2 day-ers !

We haven't seen a postman for 6 days !

Could you not arrange to pick it up in person?

Very weird

Someone sent me a postcard from Tonbridge, Kent, postmarked October 4, 2007 and I received it here in Valencia on October 10, 2007

The GPO obviously is only on strike for UK post.

Quite right Philip!

Wailed to pet solicitor's admin person this morning. The contract was posted by the builders to us a week ago, so goodness knows where it is in the system. Told her that I would bring it over to her in person as soon as it arrives - a furtive postman was spotted this morning, so hopeful for tomorrow. :?

Am taking apart ancient wardrobe and beginning garment packing.

How I wish we were having a removals firm! But we've got to the mega-economy stage now....

Was the postman lurking in the bushes?

I'm more than willing to give you a hand with the move. Just pay my air fare and I'll be there in a few days...

Still banging my gong for you, medeario!

Just think how relaxed life will be in, say, hmmm, a year or so...
