My dream was to get married in Chapel- how grand! bit too late now and I agree it would be too big. The only thing I can think of would be to do it with your guests, then fill up the rest of chapel with pupils and the full choir! now what a wedding that would be! loud and proud and very housey!

Even smaller churches than the chapel can pose a problem...

Angie and I got married at St Matthew's in Redhill which is a fairly high Gothic victorian church that can seat c.350 - we only had 100 guests... how to fill the rest of those empty pews?

Luckily, it had been Angie's church since she was very little - and the whole congregation were invited to the service - this meant we had about 250 people there! :-)

Don't go off on your honeymoon the same evening as your wedding. Everyone you leave behind goes on to have a great time and when you come back drop snippets about it to you, but you never get the whole story. Stay an extra day and be part of the whole story.

Very few people have sex on their wedding night, they are too tired/low/high/hungry. That is what honeymoons are for.
My VBF Deli who, sadly for me, lives in Melbourne, had a plane load of friends turn up in London from Oz for the wedding weekend, no hotels booked, nada, planned to spend the whole weekend carousing around and then fly home on the Monday before the jet lag caught up with them. The bride and groom had booked the bridal suite in a hotel at the airport the night before their honeymoon flight and when the joyous Aussies found out, they all piled in there so they could share the room before their flight home the next day; they stayed up all night paryting and sending for supplies from room service. My VBF and her brand new husband spent the night locked in their huge bathroom with most of the bedding and, fortunately a double bath; exactly 9 months and one week later my lovely God-daughter was born!! :D

Well I will confess to the occasional 'Ignited' ! - it comes from having no children, a ludicrous frantic working life and an other half who sails, shoots, scubas, bikes (mountain and motor) and skis! Consequently if I 'indulge' him it means I get lovely random weekends to myself where I don't have to get dressed all day, read the papers in bed for hours, take long (uninterrupted) baths, chat on the phone with friends for hours, shop and not have to 'lose' the evidence, no cooking (ergo no washing up), eat delivered food (we get allsorts delivered no jsut indian and chinese!!), drink whatever I want from whatever I want in any quantity that I want and when he gets back he's so grateful, brings me flowers, chocolates, champagne and takes me out unexpectedly having spent the weekend basking in the glow of his friends admiration that he can go where he wants and when he wants with no bitching. Stock question he always asks is' 'what did you do all weekend' and stock answer is always 'you know, same old same old, cooking cleaning ironing .....' which of course generates big hugs and deep gratitude!! In addition of course, I'm massively in credit on a permanant basis!!!! Wedded bliss without the big bill!!
