Try a good real ale. I don`t like beer, but i do like some of the real ales - my problem is that if I drank even a half I`d spend all my time in the ladies!!

did you know the pint was chosen as the standard unit of beer volume as it the amount a man can drink before he needs the toilet, then he can return and buy and drink another pint without having to leave it on the bar?
well that's what I heard anyway
you see, you start talking about beer, and I get really into it! Sorry!

Presumably he leaves it on the bar so others can make use of it without having to go round to the back.

So does that mean that way back in the past, some sad and deranged person actually conducted tests on a sample group of men with assorted beakers to see which one most closely resembled the holding capacity of a bladder

Chicken with lime, coriander and coconut; a really rich bolognese sauce with red wine and smoked bacon served with spaghetti and fresh parmesan; moist chocolate cake; champagne and smoked salmon; fresh cherries; anything alfresco; sherry trifle (without jelly!); sausages and mash; beef wellington with red wine sauce; medium rare steak with stilton and croutons; lemon tart and cream; kir royale at a Parisian bar overlooking the Seine; pork and apple casserole with roast parsnips; any roasted veg; passion fruits, but the pips are a nuisance; Christmas pudding; scones, jam and cream with a large pot of Earl Grey tea; chicken caesar salad; sauted mangetout and red peppers; shepherd's pie with carrots and green beans on a cold evening; fresh bread, butter and local cheese; cox's orange pippins ...
How's that for starters?

Unless the local constabulary serve this lot up in their canteen, we're wandering off topic here in a major way. Will we get our wrists slapped?
