The name is Katharine!! "a" not "e" in the middle!
A quick edit and she might not notice!

The Marshall is normally an ex-sergeant major type chap who is in essence in charge of discipline and runs the CCF if I remember correctly...

I was a redhead through the first half of my 20's, I used henna, and for about a week after I applied it no-one would come near me because it stank. It makes your hair very shiny tho'.
My nephew is a real carrot top but unfortunately bleaches it blond. A great shame as I adore red hair. Colette Holbrook who was a year behind me at Hertford was one of a family who all had the most glorious red hair.

Henna, Mary! How lovely of you to remember that superlative substance. It gave a wonderful colour and shiny condition to dark hair. My hairdresser in the early 70s had women lined up in a row under heated lamps being done with henna!
I was first done when I was hitchhiking around Morocco after leaving CH - I remember sitting in a small tin shack whilst several Moroccan girls I'd got chatting to mixed up quantities of the green powdered herb and applied it. What a terrific effect! However, it must be the messiest ever hair treatment to do oneself... but I did.
Thank you for reviving that memory!

Re: Becomming a New Dep
i thought about henna dye in the early stages of going red (before i found the ultra superior schwartzkopf!) but as wilko didn't sell it, i couldn't be bothered to find anywhere else that did!

CCF currently run by a lady rejoicing in the name of Miss Talisker Stuart-Gordon... but the School Marshall seems to be a shadowy figure who appears for Drill DT's and other arcane punishments. I'm frightened of him & I haven't even met him.

If I remember rightly Miss T. S-G has magnificent red hair but no idea about the School Marshall. Suspect not - this could be why he objects to the more fiery colours - jealousy perhaps?

I have been thinking about her and I fear her silence on the subject means that she hasn't. I do hope that she manages to get in somewhere she likes, she was so enthusiastic.Urgh-My-Pancreas wrote:by the way, has any one heard from Hannah (lightbulbbroken) about whether she got in after all???

I read the letter that she wrote into the school and I have to say it was brilliantly done... if anyone could benefit from Christ's Hospital and the school benefit from a pupil, it would be here imho...

TSG is a legend - we had ginger beef one lesson which started with ginger nut biscuits, and ended up with me very nearly bolting out of my chair when she said that she was the supreme ginger in the room!Urgh-My-Pancreas wrote:that probably means she'll be able to tell mines fake from a mile away!

Even if she does notice, she won't mind - go on, go ginger and see what happens. I dare you.
Any news from CH yet? I'm keeping relatively on the ball with the help of the GE but I haven't heard anything yet.

Re: Becomming a New Dep
I haven't heard anything recently,
I'm hoping no news is good news...
which has been a blessing in disguise,
seeing as i have so much to do at the moment!
Who knew balancing a social life, job, revision and a school trip to Germany could be so complicated!
