Well.. think about the cost of posting a heavy cast iron framed desk across the pond... that might double the price!
I believe that there is a CH person prepared to pay silly money in Azerbyjan (don't know how to spell it...). He has won against me on several items. Let's see if it's him, when the auction goes down!
But even to Azerbyjan (however it is spelt!) there would be horrendous postage costs. Maybe he still has a mum in England....

I bought one of these at an Old Blues Day sale in the late 1980s or early 1990s for £10 or £15. I seem to recall that there was a room stuffed with them behind the Tuck Shop somewhere and you could pay your money and take your pick. Of course they got snapped up pretty quickly.

Yes, it filled up the Deps Club in the early 1990's I think...

Fairly positive that the open both ends style was in use in the 1970s. The one I possess is of that style too.

Well.. 'albatross', Bidder 3 (whatever happened to Bidders 1 and 2?!) came in at the last minute - literally (presumably had a 'snipe' on the item) and got it for a piddling £216.
I need to go and lie down in a darkened room.
