That's good to know.
I thought the trombone choir were very good at St.John's - I'm sure they'll bring an appropriately dignified air to the proceedings.
I suppose that Dave Elliott was responsible for planting the seed which led to jazz being what it is today at C.H. when he founded the Dance Band (now the Big Band).

I knew it as the Show Band. You had to buy the tickets way in advance if you wanted a chance of seeing them!

I haven't seen or heard them for years, so this year I will most definitely make the effort.

The Dance/Show Band were just great and one of my highlights of the musical calendar (always nagged my parents to get us tickets to see them). Am I right in thinking that Charlie Hazlewood (him off the telly) played keyboards at some time? Wouldn't it be good to see them again at a DGE Memorial Concert? Don't know what the current crop are like, so no offence meant! Have been out of the CH loop for some time.
