You are not the only one - my dear daughter took me to Battersea dogs home who also sell stray cats and we got talked into shelling out £80 for 2 cats when we only wanted one. They had apparently lived together all their lives so couldn't be separated without suffering. Well when we got them home they wasted no time in showing their absolute contempt for eachother standing face to face ears flattened back in anger and cuffing eachother round the whiskers. It took 2 years to be able to touch either of them, they never sit on one's knee and prefer to be left well alone. They have killed some lovely birds, they have pissed in hard to find corners of the house, and my daughter adores them. I, too, was had.

I seem to have a list of lookalikes. None of them look like each other but I would agree that most bear some resemblance to to me.
At CH and my first year at UCL, it was Malcolm MacDowell, especially during his 'if... ' period. That's the one I most agree with. I also got a few Jarvis Cockers, which I never understood. During my gap year I grew my hair and had a (pathetic) mustache and beard, and apparently looked like George Harrison from the white album years. At uni I bleached my hair and was apparently a ringer for Kurt Cobain. If you are ever lacking luck with the ladies, dye your hair blonde, try to look like Kurt Cobain and hang out in rock clubs. I am still amazed at how much attention that got me
. Now, I don't really look like anyone, although my students seem to think I look like Paul McCartney. Quite a different-looking bunch!
I think some people just have familiar faces.

This was taken in 1977, 5 years after leaving school, the hair was longer at Uni.

Much to the continuing mirth of all the Iraqis I meet, they seem to think I look like Hussein Ferme. Probably means as much to you as it did to me, but apparently he is some Egyptian actor. Anyway, it causes much amusement, and as is their want, whispering and pointing. 10 Housey points for the first bored person at work to be able to put up a picture of HF for analysis....
